Bob, that interview (conducted by a guy named Stephen Young) was originally published in the Wall Street Journal in August 1995, ten years ago, and has been carefully ignored by the rest of the media since then. I have the whole text if anyone wants it.

Bui Tin was living in Paris by then; I seem to recall he recently died, in the last year or so, but not sure.

Quite a guy. He was the NVA's "Lewis & Clark," on a mission from Giap, blazed the original Ho Chi Minh Trail (on foot, obviously) in 1961, then he walked the length of the Trail again in 1964 to inspect their progress.

Good book is "The Blood Road" by John Prados, all about the Trail and its effect on the conduct of the war by both sides.
