Today I'm going to Memphis Texas to pick up some aluminum castings of stuff we sell at the NVW Museum. I'll also pick up the UH-1 tail rotor chain that I'm donating to the VHCMA to use to make bracelts for the reunion raffle. I'll be busy at the reunion with a little museum desk selling stuff to raise money for both the Museum and the VHCMA. (I do not get a dime and my time andexpenses are donated.)
I also just got a call from former 282nd black cats crew chief Jerry Staggs.(Jerry is now and has been a civil chopper pilot for a long time and owns a small operation in Weatherford Tx.) He has donated 2 Oh-6 tail rotor blades for me to sell and the money will be split between the crew members assc . and the National Vietnam War Museum in Mineral Wells, Tx. If anyone is interested in the blades let me know. I have offered to shoot a couple of holes in them to make sure they're not used for flight again and to add to the mystique of the blades.
