Fantastic, Paul ! Old Gator Birds never die, they just get recycled... did you happen to get any pics of 624? If so, let's get 'em on here !!
(hey.. I'm no one to talk too loudly, my scanner is still on the fritz..)

I don't remember any tail numbers from '70, in that I got so little exposure to the birds, except for an occasional ride. The 35K (Avionics installers) maybe could recall some of them...
my field was Nav radio repair, but I didn't even get to do that- I ran Production Control at Avionics, wherein I would take in the radios from the linemen, write up the DA Form 2407, and swap good radios off the shelf for the bad ones... and repair a lot of mic cords y-cords, replace helmet mikes and earpieces, etc. BO-ring....

Bummer that the shindig in Branson came off as commercial, but then, it goes on for days and days, and the way Ross Perot talked about it on Fox news the other night, the best is yet to come.
there's a huge fireworks show, period rock, soul and "big bands", and a whooper parade for the finale...H. Ross talks a pretty good game, anyhoo.

Branson was just a little "nothing" town before the amusement parks and such came to town, wasn't it? I guess the developers found some cheap land near the major traffic routes, and there you have it....Nashville/Orlando Mid-West.
