Doesn't seem the govt at any level has learned anything from our recent experiences here with Ivan. Our Civic Center if full of evacuees fro La and Miss. No bathing facilities, no bedding and just getting food and water to them. Asked to volunteer..took names and said they will get back to us. Could have been down there or clear to Miss with bedding, pillows, etc. Was gonna bring people up here to bathe/ wash clothes but not by myself due to too many risk factors. Can't find anyone doing stuff around here much less organizing teams for Ala/ Miss/ or New Orleans. By now FEMA et al should have some pretty experienced teams. Thank God we didn't have to deal with alligators, snakes, etc. All the big speeches the dignitaries seem to be making just take away from the time the qualified leaders could be leading it seems to me.. Last I looked..they were trying to figure how to get the people out of the Civic Dome and whisk them off to Texas. Oh lordy..Armed Texans and armed New Orleans thugs. New dimensions to disaster..
