The Khaki Mafia (corrupt SMJ Army and a General) bought a SHIPLOAD of Carling Black label in 1966 to get a kickback, and it was scattered all over Nam. In mid 1967 the class VI at Camp Holloway was requiring you to buy 1 case of Carling in order to get a case of any other beer, including the Korean Swill. I personally swore I'd never use Carling again although I did use a case of it during the tour to boil hotdogs in when I could get them.
Too bad no jail time was handed out to the biggest Khaki Mafia offenders. They should have been courtsmartialed, Shot and the troops permitted to line up and piss on their graves for the Carling caper.
