Lynn,

You are right about agreeing to disagree on many subjects, but, given the proof and the history of a subject, I can and have changed my mind on many subjects.

I learned to be flexible years ago, I can and do change my mind on subjects frequently. I was a "Yellow Dog Democrat" just like my daddy and my daddy's daddy. But after learning the truth about why we were in Vietnam, and who traded our lives for profit, I became an Independent. [(SPECIFICS) Check on the ownership of Paige Aircraft Maintenance, Slumberger, Brown and Root, SEA LAND, Tiger Airlines, Bell Aircraft, Beachcraft Aircraft, and General Dynamics and tell me why they got their contracts to support the Vietnam war. You will find that President Johnson, via Lady Bird Johnson was a major share holder in each of those companies. Check the record.] Now, I evaluate the political candidates based on their record, their beliefs, and their actions, and I split my vote to put what I consider to be the best candidate in office. I voted for Jimmy Carter, but after I learned from the history of what led up to the Vietnam War, I changed my mind. I also became very disillusioned with Jimmy Carter after seeing how he handled the actions in the Middle East. I am not one who favors leaders like the Shah of Iran and I can't say that him being put out of office was a bad thing, but, I can say that allowing the Iatola Komane to take over through inaction was not a good thing. Carter and the Democrats, who controlled the House and the Senate, destroyed my faith in the Democratic Party with their "liaise fair" attitude and their attitude toward the military.

I also don't like the way that the Democrats go "LOCK STEP" when they don't like what is happening, or because it isn't being done their way. They haven't worked with the other members of the House and the Senate on more than a few minor activities since they lost the leadership of the House and Senate through the elections. They lost the elections because of their attitudes and actions, not because of the radical right, the religious right, or any other factors. Remember that the Congressmen and the Senators are voted for by the constituants in their states. Recently, their negative attitudes, such as those expressed by President Clinton and the Democratic Party leadership only hurts their position with a majority of the people in the USA. They are their own worst enemy.

I just like to have all of the facts before I make up my mind, or make a change in my position.

Dave
