My opinion,
I will continue to vote Republican until the democrat party collapses and the center right takes it back again. Then it will be the party of the people again. A bit populist but strong on personal freedom, defense and fiscal matters. We are at War and they are still screaming raise Taxes, Re distribute wealth, become socialist etc. The old Democrat party never raised Taxes once in WW2. they held bond rally's and paid for the war with war bonds. The Modern Democrat party and the left wing media would sneer at that today.
The pandering of Anti-Johnson wing in he 1960s turned the Democrat party into the damned DISCREDITED Red dominated Progressive party. The leaders of that bunch of pinkos simply moved in and took over with the help of McGovern, Bobby Kennedy and the like during the 1968 and 1972 conventions. I am sure the Kennedys and others thought they could control the radical left but boy were they wrong. Mc Govern saw to that. Over the years the " progressives" ran anyone with the least bit of American conservative and patrotic values out of the party. Most of us became Republicans. That is why the Republicans have become the Majority party. When we can get the guys like Soros, The Chinese Government, and the Ford and similar foundations that have been taken over by the radical left OUT of the party, then maybe we can move back. I doubt it though because the Communist reds NEVER willingly give anything up.
I can only hope the party dies soon so it can be rebuilt on an American model.
