I don't miss the heat or the dirt. I don't miss the monsoon or the damp, moldy, mildewed clothes. I don't miss the overpowering stench of the shit they called food, of the open cesspools, or of most of the people. I don't miss seeing people crap in the streets. I don't miss ARVNs who wouldn't fight for their own country. I don't miss contaminated food or the water you couldn't drink. I don't miss weeks without a shower or being happy to get a cold one. I don't miss the bugs or the rats.

For some reason none of that makes me nostalgic. If I want scenery, I've got plenty of that right here.
