Bob,

Maybe I have a different opinion of who the people are, like the Russians of 20 years ago, I feel that the average Russian and or Vietnamese didn't know or care about the politics of the leadership, they were like many of us here in the USA, just trying to survive.

People are people and if approached as though they were another human being, most would be as curious about us as we are about them. The only real group that I would be afraid to approach on a human basis would be some of these hard line Muslims that feel that only they are right and that all that don't look like them or sound like them should be killed. I feel, from what I have seen on the news, that I would be afraid of being different, yet FOX NEWS just had a lady visit Iran and travel all over the country. She had a few problems, but most were minor, and she found that ALL BUT the hardliners were nice people.

I feel that way about most people and cultures around this world. I don't hate anyone, not even my ex-wife or her husband, but that doesn't mean that I want to be best friends.

I have learned that hate only works on the one who bears the hate, the object of that hate either doesn't know about the hate, or they don't give a damn about the hate and they have moved on with their lives. The only one hurt is the one with the hate in themselves and that hurts due to the negative impact that their hate causes on themselves.
