I remember a 3 legged dog someone called arithmatic (he put down 3 and carried one) I remember another dog named figmo, and there was one that got injured at Lane when someone rigged some explosices in the wire along with the flares. Doc Farr, the company flight surgeon, spread some peanut butter on GI bread to sober up then dug the shrapnel out of the dog. That was after the first of the year 1967 and I had moved to lane to play MO and build time flying with the platoons.
Old dogs hungaround and helped morale. I think once someone said we had to get rid of the dogs and guys got pissed and the order was recinded.
