: goes BANG just in case.
I don't like them much myself Tom, but I know that if I ever need one I won't have time to go buy it.
I kept a couple at work because I thought I had a responsibility to the people who worked for me. Nutcase shot up the CT state lottery hq a few years ago; if the boss (who was chased into the parking lot and gunned down) had kept a piece available, he and several of his people would still be alive.
I carried every day for more than 20 years and nobody knew it. (No family or other nice people, anyway.) Gave me a real edge. Since I'm not in the city anymore, I haven't had a gun on my person for a year or more. I sure know where they are, tho.
Katrina was a lesson in how fast things can turn ugly.
As an old pal, former SF and police chief in Texas, advised: "Either a 12 gauge pump with a couple of slugs at the top of the stack of buckshot, or a Glock .40. Or both. And if you ever use one or both just keep pulling the trigger until it don't make no more noise." I like BT's coachgun approach also... but I guess I just don't like chambered rounds unless I'm planning to shoot.
I'm a believer.
