I'm at Rolling Thunder every year. I go down with Billy on the Friday and usually leave DC that Sunday evening. Billy and I are both members of Rolling Thunder National, "Rolling Thunder" is our run, we handle the setup, ride, security, whole kit'n caboodle. We usually stay at the Virginian Suites which is real close to the action. Rooms are nice, cheap and easy to get if you sign up for them in Feb. or March. I don't know exactly what we will be doing this year. I think Friday night is the candle light at the wall. The usual plan is to spend Saturday at the VA hospital etc. If you guys are coming in for the rally, I will make plans to get together with you. Last year Lumpy, his son, Billy and I got together for dinner at a place just up the road from the hotel. It was a good time. If I bring my son this year I will most likely be driving down and trailering the bike and sidecar. If that is the case, I will be at the hotel early afternoon on Friday. Otherwise, we will be there later in the afternoon on Friday. Doc, Shakey, it's a quick trip down to us, maybe Thursday night, and then we can ride together to DC. We most likely will not be riding with Rolling Thunder National to DC this year. Plan that Billy and I talked about is just to take it easy, nice ride, go on our own. There will probably be 4 of us at least, you and Shakey make 6.

The more the merrier, so make the plans. With 1/2 million motorcycles there, I guarantee you've never seen anything like it and you can't find a better cause to ride for.
