Close, but we tried a Veterans For Veterans Village here in TX, but we didn't carry through. I would be willing to join. Just think of the benefits of bulk purchases and individual sales to the veterans.

1. PX
2. Commisary
3. Auto Sales
4. Gas Sales
5. Banking
6. Construction
7. on and on

The major problem is ownership. If people buy, they will want to give to their family, therefore breaking up the village. The only viable system would be to have a bank on the property where everyone placed their funds as a condition of entry. Housing would be constructed and then rented to the participants, and then upon demise of the vet and or the spouse, the property would revert to the village and the bank would pay out the money to the children minus the costs of living that the veteran incurred.

That could be profitable, especially if it were a 501C-3 Corporation that was capable of accepting donations from the Fortune 500 and the rich pro-military personnel who would also provide support so that the less fortunate veterans could avail themselves of the facility.

A thousand acres would be a good start, but it would have to be able to expand in order to take on all that would want to join in on the fun and profits.

A thousand acres isn't really enough to contain all of the stray gunfire that would be emitted from the compound, think in terms of 10,000 to 20,000 acres, with the village starting in the middle.
