I know that once they got on they were there for life. That's what pisses me off. If you make a mistake on your income taxes regardless if it was one or two years ago, you still get hit with the back taxes plus fines and interest. If my real estate taxes are late,I pay a fine. So now you have hundreds if not more dead beats collecting money and real veterans are being shut out of the system.

If the VA has all this information why would I have to proof I was in Nam? All they have to do is check the tax rolls from the years that someone claims to be in Nam and they can see if they paid taxes and if they did, they were not in a combat zone. Remember one of the beenies for getting shot at was we didn't have to pay income tax.
