Lately I've been packing my little beretta .32 cal automatic on my left side in a digital camera pouch on my belt. I have a 2 barrel 45 long colt/.410 bore derringer in my glasses case on my right hand side. I Have been traveling a lot on the local trains and decided a shoot out at close range could hurt some innocent folks if not accurate so I use the little 2 barrel derringer called the "Cowboy Defender" made in Grandbury Texas (about 25 miles south) as the gun of choice. And I load it with number 4 shot .410 Bore.
I got the 45 cal Long colt .410 bore combination so now I have a "shotgun" of sorts for my primary weapon. I have the number 4 shot in it right now so I can "stop" someone without killing them (I hope). I figure a face full of number 4 shot (damned near .14in. in diameter) will slow down most muggers. If not he can then be greeted with a hollowpoint 45 cal. long colt max load round. If a gun fight occurs then we talk automatic from the camera case. It's a Beretta .32 cal with 8 rounds. The wife was disgusted with me for packing so much heat, but at the train stop today a really well built ex-con looking "bum" was there talking about how homeless he was and how he could "rob" to make money if need be and asking for change.(we look old and helpless) (he was asking in a way that let me know I should give it to him). The neat thing was I could say "not today".. and from the packs on my belt and my attitude I think he understoood. He moved on. Anyway, next time I go to Dallas on the train, I'm taking both again. hard to miss at 8 feet with a scatter gun.

God Bless Texas!
