I live in Pensacola. Great commissary and VA is expanding dramatically, if you are eligible. Most of the year you need air conditioning or heating so not good if you like the windows open all the time.

Unfortunatley since Hurricane Ivan, our property taxes have soared as has house insurance.

On the good side, we have I-10 which allows us to travel E or W easily. Beach property is prohibitive but you can always run down there for the day.

The population is a little more cosmopolitan than some Southern places and most speak an English you can understand.
