: non-resident permits by mail. Go to the
: State of Florida website and nose around,
: find the page that offers an application
: packet, and just fill out the form. (It's
: the Dept of Agriculture, believe it or not.)
: In a week or so, a big envelope will arrive
: in the mail. Go to your local police, get
: fingerprinted, get some passport photos
: taken, make a copy of your DD-214, fill out
: the application carefully and send it all in
: with the money. They say the permit arrives
: in less than 90 days. I count 31 states that
: honor Florida's permit.

This works. Mine arrived in the mail this week, took less than 60 days.
