Today, I was down to Branson, Silver Dollar City to be exact. Paul jr and I had the pleasure of meeting Edward Faulkner the man who played Cpt. McDaniel in the movie.
He was an Air Force Pilot between Korea and Vietnam. I got a autographed picture of him and John Wayne at the movie set down in Ft Benning Ga.
We talked for a long time about the movie and service to our country. I gave him a coin and brought tears to his eyes, he gave me a hug and say thanks to all of you for the honor of receiving one of our coins from us.. see Doc. you are the MAN...
We also got to meet Buck Taylor, ( Gun Smoke, Tombstone fame) Paul and I talked to him about Tombstone the movie and how Paul jr thought Val Kilmer played a great Doc Holiday. We talked about Paul being hurt in Iraq. Buck gave Paul a water color print of Val Kilmer for free he did. Signed it: We Are Free ... Because of the Brave. Buck Taylor. he said that Kilmer is trying to do a movie called "Doc" about the life of Holiday.. what a great day for the Jr and me. Both men are what Hollywood should be. Fan oriented.. paul sr
