Tom, thanks to you and many more writers, he seems to recognize the depth of meaning the POW/MIA flag still means for so many. At least he got the flag into the public limelight with his article. Like he said..he inadvertently stuck a stick into an open wound.
As each year passes, I see fewer and fewer POW/MIA flags flying. I haven't been to Tallahassee to see if Fla. flies one at the Capitol bldg. However, when I fly mine, I often get asked what it is. You also see fewer and fewer POW/MIA bumper stickers.
A new generation either forgets or never knew just what the POW/MIA flag meant and the emotion behind it for anyone of the Viet Nam era. I gathered the writer may be of this younger generation.
Thank you for giving him a few wake-up kicks.. "Lest we forget".
