Thanks, Carl. I don't know if Touch remembers, but we were there and did some work with those guys. The regular gubships out of Ban Me Thuot had been shot up really bad, and we were directed to send two birds to support operations in that AO for a week or two. I don't remember who my wingman was, but I think it may have been Arlen Gant, who later became our Ops. Officer after Cpt. Bessinger went home. That area was really pretty, with a lot of ugly stuff going on. I remember the airfield, the SF camp, the rubber plantation, Theodore Roosevelt's hunting lodge and the ARVN basic training camp. I have met a guy, here in Omaha, that was stationed at a USAF outpost and strip south of there that remembers us being there. Touch might remember the black puffs of smoke behind that we had to dodge. Ooh, close one.
