Tom and others,

I heard from my aunt this morning, she had found all of my uncle's slides that he had sent home from Viet Nam. I went and picked them up this morning and looked through them very briefly. There are approximately 200 images. Many are of the base and him in and around his ship. There are also a few shots from a Bob Hope show. One showed a placard with his name and that of a few others in the maitenance crew. The uniforms the men are wearing are the style that have the name in black on a white strip over the right chest pocket and some of the names are clearly visable. This should help in locating men who served with him. The nose art on his ship is exactly like that on the model he had made. It has the black dragon in a white circle and shows his name as crew chief. I also noticed it said 1st airlift platoon. A couple of pictures were close ups of a different unit emblem. A white circle with what looked like a large blue dragon with a bulgin belly.

I have cleared it with my aunt to share these all with you. I have contacted a friend at the local photoshop about transfering these to digital images and putting them on disc. The cost is somewhat high, about $.65 per slide (she actually gave me a deal. Her regular price was $.95 each). So, hopefully, in a few weeks, I'll be able to post an entire album to the photos page.
