Ohhh my..How the neighborhood changed! I went to Montebello High. Back in the very olden days our school was about half Mexican (not immigrants but born in the U.S. citizens). We all ran together in school and we were all Californians. We were all from the area (not immigrants from the South)and it was OUR country, flag, school, etc. Race and language wasn't a problem. We often had Cinco de Mayo school celebrations and everyhone loved the food and dances, etc. But, that was the OLD California!! Times change. Caroline
