LOL, that would be me. Here's the story, a real "no-sh*tter". We had a change of command, Willie (Alan Williams) and I had presented departing Maj. Campbell(?)with the highly honored "Purple Shaft w Barbed Wire Cluster" at a very intoxicated awards ceremony. The new guy had us do an actual formation (that was a sight to behold) soon after his arrival and informed us that there would be another formation the following morning and "EVERYONE WILL BE CLEAN SHAVEN, ONLY THOSE WITH AN I.D. CARD SHOWING FACIAL HAIR WILL BE PERMITTED TO GROW IT BACK". He became everyones instant favorite guy.

Being somewhat of a military rebel, "what are they gonna do,send me to Vietnam?" ;>) and also bein the Class 6 officer (booze guy), always helpful to us all. Willie took my photo with his brand new giant polaroid, up against the class 6 store wall and for the price of a bottle in a purple camera bag, one of my new friends at Bn laminated up a new I.D. card. Needless to say, the new CO was duly impressed and it took us awhile to become tight buddies again.

That I.D. card worked all the way to my ETS as long as I kept the stash waxed up above my lip. Geez, I figured that was why the sold moustache was in the PX.
