You can tell that Ron was a late arrival. During our time there was no milk in the mess hall, even the spoiled kind. The first milk I remember was when Pete Sromquist and I went to the coast and I was lucky enough to trade an aircraft ride to a Captain for more milk and Ice Cream than we could carry back. That was April 68, and we didn't get any more milk or ice cream until about August. Do you remember the ice cream party that we held in the 1st Plt when we got back? 6 five gallon cartons of ice cream barely lasted the night, the 12 five gallon containers of milk lasted for about three days.
