Thirty six years ago today, 8/17/70, while on my way to LZ North English for deros processing, the chopper went down. Six men that I didn't know very well were with me, and all were killed. I regret not contacting their families to tell them what had happened. To this day I wonder why I was the only one to survive. Rest in Peace: Merlyn Lee Wentzel, Patrick Rory O'Brien, Richard Keith Johnston, SP4 Raymond Stansbury, SP4 Paul Aallen Demaline,and PFC Robert Allan Ater.
