I found Paul Magee's name listed in the 68-69 119th History. He shows up as receiving a Air Medal with "V" along with many higher awards and other people receiving the same or higher awards. Other names on the same document are Eugene Carroll,John Churchill,Eugene Tuchstone, James Saufley, Merve Olive just to name a few.

Paul was a gunner and his son remembers him mentioning tail #'s 283 and 091 (which was a loss to inventory) and spent a very short time in VN. The Gold Book does not give an incident report for 091. Number 283 had a long history in VN but no incidents while assigned to the 119th. The time frame for the Awards would be May and the operations took place around Duc-Co, Plei
Djereng, Dak Seang supporting the 5th SF and 47th ARVN Regt.

Have a dose of caffine and put on your glasses. Lets see what we remember for his son Thad.
