: "Home is castle," Don. No obligation
: for you, as a home or business owner, to
: exhaust avenues of retreat or wait for overt
: threat before use of deadly force to defend
: your home, family, or business. Fact that
: bad guy is inside the premises without
: authorization is reasonable cause for you to
: empty the magazine.
: Some states demand that all avenues of retreat
: be exhausted, or you have reasonable cause
: to think you or others are in mortal danger
: before you ventilate the bad guy. They want
: you to go out the back door, if you can, as
: the bad guy comes in the front, and they
: will prosecute you if you do not.
: A case can be made that bad guys tend to
: congregate in states where their chances of
: being shot full of holes during the practice
: of their nefarious craft are minimized.
: It is also why all bad guys shot to death by
: homeowners inside private homes in
: Connecticut in modern memory have,
: coincidentally, been found by the
: authorities with a large kitchen knife
: grasped in one of their cold, dead hands.

TX apparently just passed their Castle Law. BT for sure , or Dave will likely elaborate. or Willie, or one of us.
Some places, the "plinking rights" as the leftards might wanna call them, extends to some of your outside-the-home-property. local and state laws vary greatly..
funny how in FL, car-jackings dropped off sharply after the Castle idea extended to your occupied auto or other conveyance. unauthorized sudden occupant gets a case of lead poisoning.
I hear that VA has been an "open carry" spot since 1620.
