Paul Jr called and he is doing great. He has 80% plus unemployability, this is a good start. True he draws the full pay, and he draws a bunch of benefits, but it is not PERMANENT AND TOTAL he is at the mercy of the VA, they can reduce his percentage and take away the unemployability at the drop of a hat. Fortunately, in order to have those two ratings, he meets the requirements for 100% PERMANENT AND TOTAL, he just has to push the VA to get the 100% rating. Once that occurrs he will have permanent benefits for his wife and children even if he is not in the picture. You can ask Caroline about that, both of her husbands were 100% disabled. The 100% rating is important, don't let the VA or their reps fool you. Money isn't the half of it, the benefits that go with the 100% rating are what we are striving for, the money is good for only as long as you get it. A disability plus unemployability pays at the 100% rate, so don't give up all of the benefits because you have the cash. There is a lot more to it, and Paul Jr is headed the right way.
