The following email went out today to all who asked to read names in DC this year:

Okay, gang. We are ready to go with the reading of the 119th Assault Helicopter Company names on The Wall on Veterans Day weekend. The folks at VVMF sent all the materials to me last week.

They have split all the readings into pages with 30 names per page, and scheduled each page to take exactly two minutes to read. When actually doing the readings, they stay very close to their scheduled times.

We have 27 pages of names to read. The bad news is that other people had apparently also requested to read pages that some of our 119th names were on, so we lost sixteen names from our request. There is nothing we can do about most of them, other people now already have the pages. Those names are:

We will be there anyway when those names are read, to honor our own.

MaryBeth, the one group that we may be okay with is yours. We have you reading Scotty Broadston's name in group #1740 at 4:58pm on 11/10. Your brother and Ralph Roussell will almost certainly be on page #1741, which will be the person directly behind you in line to read. I'm sure nobody would mind, indeed, they would think it appropriate, if we talk to that person and move two names from #1741 to #1740 and just read them.

The name roster, with readers names, dates, and times are on the Excel file attached to this email. Also, tomorrow, I will mail to each reader the individual page rosters assigned to each reader along with other materials sent to me by VVMF for the readers information, so if your name is on the roster please email me right away hosco6@aol.com with your current address and watch your mail this week. I will have copies of everything with me in DC. Remember, nothing is in stone; we can change and adjust anything except what the VVMF people did not give us.

The page of names you receive from me is the actual page you will read from at The Wall. Please go over it and check pronunciations of names, and be sure to bring it with you to The Wall.

Readers, you must be at The Wall to check in at least ONE HOUR prior to your scheduled reading time. There will be a tent a short distance from The Wall, the "Memorial Fund Information Tent", on the Henry Bacon Ball Field, where you MUST check in with the Memorial Fund folks, and please remember to bring your page of names with you.
