Re: shame on McCain
In Response To: shame on McCain ()

I met McCain on an airliner once and sat next to him in COACH. He was offered first class and refused. Mc Was offered freedom after the NV found out he was the son of an admiral. He refused. Mc is sort of a Populist who believes in people, and he said he'd go home with the rest or not at all. I believe he's capable of uniting the vast majority of the folks in this country. He is a pragmatist who tells you what he believes. And to me' he's a hero and a patriot.I refuse to believe he sabotaged any effort to get an accounting of POWs and protect bureaucrats. As to how he would know their status, he has military and Civil connections at the highest levels. And I firmly believe we left folks behind and more than 300 pilots and crews were shipped to the soviet union and china. Another bunch was most likely killed in cambodia and laos. My bet is , there were parts of the law that were onerous and this piece is just an effort to diminish his service to America. He's not a die hard, flag waving conservative, andI disagree with some of his positions, but I'd take him any day over the rest of the field. Another thing, I believe him to be an honest man and a man of his word.
