Howdy Gators and Crocs:

The Plei Me book is near complete. I am working on the last days of October 1965 and the battle at Plei Me. As the 1st Cav Div moved in and took over the action we know that the 119th and 52nd CAB supported the division.

When the battle began on 10-20-65 the 119th was flying to support 1st Cav and ARVN troops around Phu Cat. The Croc ship was shot down while the company was in the air toward the coast. When the operations on the coast wound down or were cancelled the 119th returned to Holloway where the 155th AML (Co A, 1st Avn Bn) had been supporting the Plei Me operation.

The Epilogue is sort of a tally sheet about the Plei Me battle and want to give everyone their due. Maybe you can help.

Questions:

In addition to the four men on the Croc gunship that was shot down 10-20-65 do you know of any other casualties during the Plei Me operation?

Do you have any estimate of the number of sorties, aircraft used, flights, etc. by the 119th during the battle and relief of the camp?

Do you have any estimate or knowledge of helicopters from the 119th receiving hits during the battle?

Now about yourself. Please write a paragraph or two about your life from time frame '65-66 and Plei Me until present. This is no time to be humble. Decorations earned would be nice to know also. A photo of you then and now would be welcome.

What is your opinion about the battle of Plei Me and did it mean anything to you?

A website will be produced in the near future and the photos collected, people, accounts and outline of the battles of Duc Co and Plei Me be available.

Thank you all for your service.
