In 1956, when I was 12 years old, I recieved a .22 semi-automatic rifle for Christmas when I was visiting my father. My father put me on the Grayhound Bus from Selma, AL to Knoxville TN. with my suitcase and my shotgun and the .22 and a small hand case that had two bricks of .22 ammuntion and a box of 6 shot for the shotgun and three slugs and five buckshot shells. Several people asked to see the weapons during the trip. I was sitting on the front seat of the bus during the entire trip, and the drivers and I had several conversations. The trip took over 14 hours, and the drivers (3) or the bus personnel in the various stations watched my things while I went to the bath room or to get something to eat. That would never happen today!
