Will do Tom. Allen flew mostly with Dufor while he as there, but early on, like most of us, he flew with just about everyone. You may remember the slick that wanted to be a gunship while we were at lane field in early 67. There was a platoon of infantry in contact with the VC and called for help and asked Lambert and Dufor what they had available. They replied 2 M 60s. Well the infantry was desperate so Dufor told his gunners to " Stow forward and fire on command" and off they went into a dive and started strafing the VC,, His "cease fire" was a little late or the gunners were a little slow getting off the triggers. As a result their fire went through the VC and a bit of it through the Americans. No one on our side was hurt but I'm not sure about the VC.. In any case it broke up the gunfight. Of course all involved got their ass chewed for it but it was typical of the 119th to help where needed. Allen was deros shuffled out about 10 months into his tour and went to the Cav. He's great guy and still flies. Mostly in Jets but also a 407/ Helicopter.
