I drive to Tennessee from Fort Worth and carry my pistol. I have a Texas CCW permit. While I am legal in the states I travel, I am illegal if I take drive through the state using roads that pass through the National parks. I must store my fire arm and ammo separately and then hope some ranger does not stop me and want my weapon disassembled. This is absurd! President Bush rescinded the 25 year old rule and was to allow carry in the parks if your state allows carry in the parks. And now Obama has acted to stop the ruling and is trying to reinstate the old rules. I request that you make it simple. Allow CCW holders to carry in national parks whether their state allows park carry or not. Many of the parks have become refuges for drug makers, meth labs etc. and the environmental nazis have re-introduced dangerous animals back into the parks. The parks in many cases are isolated with poor communications. I should have the right to self defense if the need arises. Any sane person wanting to visit parks with his family is at risk of animal attacks or attacks by thugs who respect no law. I have seen this situation degenerate in my lifetime because some anti gun nut in new york or California thinks it is OK to hope a cop is around when you need help. My vote during the next election depends on how I see my rights being protected by my legislators. I urge you to speak up on behalf of those of us who are good citizens who've been vetted by their state as trained and safe to carry weapons. Make it a national law. The wedge issues are tearing this country apart and it is time for the House and Senate to act to protect the constitutional rights of citizens to defend their life and property should the need arise.
