It is disgraceful. If you believe in the Bill of rights and support it's defense you are branded an extremist and possibly a terrorist. If you are a veteran, you are an extremist.
As Barry Goldwater said in 65, "I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!"
The extremist are in the congress and whitehouse. and are hell bent on using intimidation and the power of the state to suppress those who disagree with their agenda. Like John Hancock, Let them know my name. I oppose socialism in all it's forms.and ANY attempt by the Federal folks to impose Socialism, Reduction of the rights guaranteed by the bill of rights, and any attempt to seize for themselves any power not granted by the constitution will be resisted.
Again quoting Goldwater,"Those who seek absolute power, even though they seek it to do what they regard as good, are simply demanding the right to enforce their own version of heaven on earth. And let me remind you, they are the very ones who always create the most hellish tyrannies. Absolute power does corrupt, and those who seek it must be suspect and must be opposed. Their mistaken course stems from false notions of equality, ladies and gentlemen. Equality, rightly understood, as our founding fathers understood it, leads to liberty and to the emancipation of creative differences. Wrongly understood, as it has been so tragically in our time, it leads first to conformity and then to despotism."
If these views make me an extremist, then so be it. In my days it was called "love of country and freedom" and applauded. I will resist socialism in all it's forms.I will do it with my vote, But don't come knocking on my door in the middle of the night to haul me to a gulag for exercising my rights under the bill of rights.. I will not fuc*in go without a fight.
