119th AHC Mini Reunion

It has been several years since we have had a reunion and we are not getting any younger. For the past two years there has been talk on the web site and off about having another gathering with no results so I have decided to spark some interest.

The five 119th Mini reunions were held in Texas, North Dakota, Massachusetts, Washington DC, and Oregon. Attendance was good consisting of Pilots, CE’s, and DG’s. I am proposing another gathering June 16-19, 2010 at the Westin Hotel Atlanta Airport in conjunction with the 24th annual Vietnam Helicopter Members Association reunion. The dates are set the Hotel is under contract and the agenda is set all you have to do is attend. Last year in Reno, NV we had over 500 people attending with 12 from the 19th. This is not an attempt to get members for the VHCMA just an effort to have a 119th reunion. It is not necessary to be a member of the VHCMA to attend but you must pay the registration fee of $40.00. Spouses are encouraged to attend.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the Vietnam Helicopter Crew Members Association it is a 1,600 member strong 501C-19 Not-For-Profit fraternal organization dedicated to the fulfillment of the following purposes:
a. To enhance and accredit the cohesiveness, esprit de corps and traditions of valor of

Rotary wing aircrews that flew in South-east Asia during the Vietnam Era.

b. To seek out, using whatever means available, individuals who crewed, as gunner,
crew chief, flight engineer, Oscar, medic, etc, rotary wing aircraft in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam era.

The VHCMA reunion agenda is as follows:

Tuesday June 15, 2010 Registration opens along with the Merchandise room
and Hospitality room.

Wednesday June 16, 2010 – Saturday June 19 2010 Registration, Merchandise,
Hospitality, and Unit meeting room’s open

Thursday June 17, 2010 Golf Tournament and Texas Hold-Um poker in the
Evening.

Friday June 18, 2010 Bus trip to the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation for
Huey rides (weather depending)www.armyav.org Friday evening Social light snacks & finger
Foods.

Saturday June 19, 2010 VHCMA business meeting, Ladies only Luncheon
and the Saturday day night Banquet. We have lots of raffle prizes to give away
including a Tail Rotor Chain Bracelet and a commemorative UH-1 Tail Rotor
Blade.

Beer, Soda, Coffee, Tea, and Water are provided in the Hospitality room as part
of the registration fee. Other events are optional at a cost.

The leg work is done all you have to do is show up and I know it is a long haul for some of you but no matter where we go it’s a long haul for some one. Remember this is for GIF’s and GIB’s there is no rank when you walk through the door and attire is casual. There is no obligation at this point just an effort to see who might be interested in attending a 2010 119th Mini reunion in Atlanta.
