Gene, I know just enough to get myself in bad trouble, but November 14/15 was a significant date to the bad guys. The roots may have gone to the Ia Drang fights or possibly back to the French. The Viet Minh did not make much distinction between us and the French. Commie demonstrations here at home later on may actually have been tied back to that, rather than vice versa.

Would be interesting to find out.
