Survey Aircrew

Interesting survey. Seems to be real just not sure what good it will do.

Tom Gator 851.

Fellow Helicopter Pilots and Aircrew,

The Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Safety - DASN (Safety) has
enlisted the services of a contractor (KADIX Systems) to conduct a Business
Case Analysis (BCA) for Helicopter Seat Systems (HSS). As most of you know,
some current and past seat designs have often resulted in chronic back pain
or injury to pilots and crew and the purpose of this BCA is to quantify that
impact. The survey's ultimate goal is to capture the true "cost" of poorly
designed seats and to help substantiate resources to improve comfort for
pilots and crew in the future.

Your anonymous input will provide data which will ultimately be used to
develop the current cost baseline and to identify possible alternatives to
current HSS design and potential Return on Investment
(ROI) of those alternatives. Those of you who are retired, discharged, or
on active duty, no longer involving flying will allow this survey to capture
the true long-term effects of helicopter seat designs.

To complete the survey click the link, whereby you will be taken immediately
to the survey itself. No log-in or self-identification will be required and
all surveys will be secured by Verisign. Simply complete the survey
questions and provide any comments you'd like at
https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VWJBC3B. Helo pilots and aircrew who are
still on active duty are also encouraged to visit the link above where you
will be provided a second link to a similar survey for active duty personnel
currently in a billet involving flying.

Regardless of the survey you take, identifiable personal information is
neither requested nor tracked in any way. Your responses to the survey
cannot be traced back to yourself or your squadron. This survey is being
conducted by a 3rd party who will simply capture the data and provide it
back to the Kadix Team conducting the BCA. The survey itself was designed
to be completed in approximately 15 minutes; it is understood that some
questions may ask for information where where exact information may not be
readily available. Any information you can provide, even estimates, will be
infinitely useful.

Please complete the survey No Later Than January 22, 2010. Your input will
be very valuable in developing this BCA and I thank you, in advance, for
your participation.
