Bob,

I just think that some where along the line the higher ups loss sight of the true mission and for whatever reasons this was their way to operate. I just found that flying ten to twelve hours a day and then pulling guard duty every third day and flare stand-by once every three weeks that on the one day we would get off for what ever reason I didn't like hiding from some of the deatils they would find for us. I remember they had an IG inspection right after we got out of the Plei-Trap Valley. Didn't have to worry about most of the ships because they were all shot to hell and most were out of service. To be honest I don't remember a field grade officier or NCO over the rank of E-7 being out in the field with the grunts. We could find out for sure from George or Dave or some of the real grunts that visit the site but after Tet 1968 I think things changed and not for the good.
