New Years Eve 68-69, having just turned 19 on the 5th of Dec. I was on guard duty, I was on the fifth or sixth bunker from the main gate toward town. Gave me alot of time to reflect on who, what, where I was going, you might say I really grew up that night, When one has time alone like that your thoughts really run wild, you never know where they will take you. If you listen like I did (I had to, no where to go)you learn alot about yourself. Especially just having lost four buddies, we just had the memorial service earlier that month for 297. Guess I was lucky, cause otherwise I would have been smashed at the EM club, my usual watering hole....... Paul
