As I recall right about Midnight it was like a fire fight from the inside. I seem to remember aircraft in the pattern reporting receiving fire from in side the compound and the guys in the tower had to evacuate do to incoming. One of the officers found a very hot M14 in the 2nd flight hooch. The dummy discovered this by picking it up by the barell.

To this day I am not sure just how that weapon got so hot or how all that brass got outside the hooch door. The Old Man was less than impressed with the evenings antics but could not find an individual to pin it on. I remember being in his office along with the rest of 2nd flight and no one seemed to know how it happened. Before releasing us he did say how much he admired the fact that his troops stuck together.

Still a mystery to this day?????
