Paul, I took over your duties the day after you were evaced. I can't remember what ship I was crewing, But Mr. Purit was the AC. WE were C&C for the infomous Col. McNight. WE pulled more Med Evacs and got shot at more in one week than I did in two tours in Nam. I think Col. McNight had a death wish, wiyh some of the things he had us doing. In one LZ we had to cut the top of a tree out with the rotor blades to get in, and I had to kick a Major and a capt. out so we could leave with the wounded. Poly Klien was under attack so we went to Mary Lou and one of the guys died in the floor. Me and Col. McNight tried to help the guy but his entire lower face was missing. WE were both covered in blood, but we went back and pulled another evac. I threw my Nomex away that night. Now I wished I hadn't told that. Touch
