Never was much good at knife fighting. And A gun around the house is just like a fire extinguisher. It is there if you need it in an emergency. In todays society where the crooks are recycled to keep the legal system drones employed, a man needs to be able to protect himself and his home. Remember the cops don't protect you from crime, they investigate it after it happens. I live in a good neighborhood but one of the neighbors relatives went nuts from crank/speed and decided to pound on doors and make demands. He's lucky the cops got there before te boy hit certain houses on the street.
Armed citizens insure crooks can never be certain in Texas.
