my first and immediate fear was "our guys"- so many go, and I have a Bud there right about now; Scary stuff..... I thought "what a way to go, and ....NOW..."

As an Avionics weenie, I never Knowingly saw any NVA or "known" VC, except at a distance in a POW camp on the road between Pleiku and 5th SF/71st Evac driveway--

except for one day right off the HotSpot, when some 52nd Security dudes were guarding a work party of about 1/2 dozen. Late in the afternoon, shots were heard, when one apparently thot he'd trot. Not hit, except from gravel kicked up. Lucky sumbitch- it changed his mind.
