Ah. I forgot they used to do that.

You were there before the Gunners Union came into effect. About the time I got there, they instituted a Gunners Draft, held twice a year. (Usually held immediately following the hoochmaid draft.)

By the time I started flying, each gunner had a valet to carry his gear and take care of the mundane tasks on the helicopter such as polishing the plexi. All communications from the AC to the gunner had to be passed through the CE and the gunner's "man" to the gunner.

I actually obtained my gunner Eggy in a complicated three-way trade with the 189th and Second Flight which involved a new peter pilot, two hoochmaids to be named later, a Spanish Star 9mm pistol, and three jugs of Jack Daniels.

Honest.
