I don't think it was named as you say. It was named after the 3Bde CO's wife - his name was Col Eugene Forrester (later Lt Gen) and his wife's name was Mary Lou.
I was at Mary Lou as it was built up in May of 68 and that is the way it was presented to us for the naming.
