Re: more SCORPION and SNOOPY

A snoopy mission was basically an AO... some AO's were brief and some more involved, typically they ran about an hour, so hours and missions were approximately equivalent. E.g. if it was an involved AO that took, say, a couple of hours to run, we'd likely call it two missions anyway... kind of splitting it up into front end and back end, keeping in mind that we might pick out more than one place to hover over during the course of the mission, but if it was a quick AO, such as doing the perimeter of Camp Enari, we'd call that a mission even though it might take a half an hour out of our trip home.. Other missions included drum drops and defoliation runs. A full day usually included 4 or 5 such missions... A really full day might include 6 or more. I did a couple of drops in Ban Me Tuot that ran several 5 or 6 mission days. We'd load up, fly out, drop, come back and load up again. We flew with different groups depending on the missions so we didn't keep track of things the same way the crews did because the crews were themselves different. There were huey's, chanooks, air cav, and eventually the SCORPION team, which generally was from the same group for all snoopy missions, but there were still other types of missions to fly.
