I know where you are coming from, I am a 100% Disabled Veteran, and a Veteran's Advocate. I had what I considered to be a good life until my wife walked out on me for another man in 1985. I continued to function, very effectively until 1994 when the problems overtook me and life went into a tailspin. I was lucky enough to have a good friend who used to work for the VFW as a veterans advocate, he got me into the system and showed me how to make the system work for us. He taught the process to me and the only thing that he has ever asked of me is to help others. To date, I have pushed the papers for 13 veterans to receive 100% in the last 18 months, and I have given guidance and assistance to over a hundred who have received between 30% and 90%. He and I work together to provide information and support for all who ask, and will work with us. My dream is my method of getting ahead. Set a goal that allows you to have success. My successes to date have been the purchase of the farm, establishing a new life where I am now in control of my destiny, and the farm/dream offers me enough tax write-offs that I will not have to make the farm pay for itself. I can become a "Gentleman Farmer" who draws benefits and lives off of the land. Home and facilities construction are providing me with additional successes. Checking the Internet has given me a wealth of knowledge of benefits that are available through the state that will pay me for using their programs, and proving their ideas. Solar Energy anyone?

The dream has allowed me to work creatively and achieve many mini-successes. I now feel quite good about myself, and I am highly recognized in the Houston V.A. for my progress and my works with the hospital. I personally counsel the Director and the Chief of Staff of the V.A. hospital and I support veterans and hospital workers. My determination has made a name for me. You too can do the same if you wish to become involved, it has made a new person out of me.
