I just sent Sam a message-

I have friends (I've never yet met) who served with 2/5 Marines in Operations Meade River,
Taylor Common, Mameluke Thrust, and Maui Peak... all heavy ops in western Quang Nam Province, 68-69 timeframe.

Bigtime NVA contact. Much like Khe Sanh and the A Shau, as far as intensity. Did "we" support any of the other ops I mentioned above? (besides Tims' suggestion that Mr. Storey was lost on Meade River?)

Anybody know????

I can dig up a lot of specifics about Marine action in the ops- I have an excellent book furnished me by the Corps- and anyone is welcome to use it. I'm sure it will mention any Army Aviation support involved.

Gotta go find it!
