I scoped out the VHCMA hotel today. Nice digs,
three minutes' walk from the Iwo Jima Memorial.
There today an 84 year old Gentleman struck up a conversation with me about how impressive the monument is, and told me he was at Omaha on 6 Jun 44, and captured by the Germans near the siegfried Line. He told me he had three bronze stars, and his daughter told me he was awarded the Medal of Honor. I think he was too humble to say it.
